On the Farm!

We are so excited to be back at nursery to start our new topic “On the Farm” We have been learning all about what a farmer does and the different animals that live on the farm. The children have loved exploring our new farm shop role play area and have been helping us to look after the animals, shear the sheep, collect the chicken eggs, dig the vegetables and deliver them to the shop.

Soon we will have some fluffy visitors in nursery. The children have been very curious about the eggs in the incubator and we are counting down the days till the eggs will hatch. The children have been keen to learn all about the chicks and have been looking in books to find out more. Charlie and Matthew asked some brilliant questions to help them learn. “What are these red things?” “How do eggs hatch?” “Why do they have sharp claws on their toes?”

On the Farm! On the Farm!

Our little rays of sunshine this week are Mollie Appleby for her amazing counting and understanding of most and least. Fern Breward as she has tried really hard in her first week to join in with nursery routines. Ruby Cleary for being very helpful in nursery. She has independently tidied up and helped our new starters. Estelle Gent for impressing us with her literacy skills. She has been practising to write her name and recognised some of the sounds. She has also confidently orally blended lots of CVC words and finally Sammy Cummins for coming into group with no problems and settling into nursery very well. He is also trying very hard to answer questions. Keep up the good work everybody and a special well done to all of our new starters for settling so well into nursery!
